About Fafa's Creations

I grew up in Finland, where I spent a lot of time in nature.  Many of the shapes and colours that I use are echos of what fill my early memories of the Finnish forest. 

I came to ceramics later in life as a response to a stress filled job.  What started as a hobby has now become a passion.

Fafa is Scandinavian for father’s father.  In the last year I became a grandfather and my sons now call me by this name.  In choosing a name to give to what I make I decided on Fafa’s Creations.

I have always made things with my hands and I come from a long history of crafts people.

Originally a woodworker, I have found clay and leather more inspiring to work with. (Though a good piece of wood can have me captivated)
